Human–Robot Interaction Cognitive and Behavioral Sciences Systems Design

Hi! I’m a PhD student at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), working at the intersection of human–robot interaction, cognitive and behavioral sciences, and the design of intelligent systems.

My research explores how humans allocate and communicate attention in hybrid teams composed of humans and robots, with a particular focus on gaze. I’m interested in understanding how attentional states are expressed during collaboration, and how intelligent agents can sense, predict, and respond to them in a natural and meaningful way.

Through my work, I aim to design intelligent systems that are more socially aware and better at collaborating with humans, ultimately making interactions with robots feel more intuitive, effective, and human-centered.

My supervisors are: Dr. Filipa Correia, Dr. Joana Campos
